The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia is one of the highest among ASEAN countries. In the province of Bali, the maternal mortality rate increased in 2024. Meanwhile, the infant mortality rate also increases every year. The results of the study of maternal and child mortality carried out in the Regency/City concluded that this condition can still be prevented. One of the prevention efforts is to increase the availability, ease of access and quality of emergency services for mothers and newborns in FKTP with PONED (Basic Emergency Obstetric Neonatal Services) capabilities supported by the existence of Hospitals with Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric Neonatal Services (PONEK).
As one of the private hospitals that is actively involved in preventing maternal and child mortality in the province of Bali, on Friday, June 13, 2025, Prima Medika Hospital was selected to facilitate the activity "Strengthening Standards of Health Services for Pregnant Women and Babies to Reduce MMR and IMR in Hospitals" which was carried out together with the Bali Provincial Health Office. The activity took place in the Orchid Room of Prima Medika Hospital. By carrying out this activity, it is hoped that it can strengthen the standards of health services for pregnant women and babies to help reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
